St. Mary's 15th Annual Conference will take place at Manchester's Midland Hotel on February 22nd and 23rd 2017.

The theme of this year's Conference is Innovation in the field of sexual violence: Strategy, science, prevention and response.

This year we will be joined by a wide range of specialist speakers from the UK and abroad. This will include keynote speakers Dr Dyann Daley from the Centre for Maltreatment in Texas, USA and the UK's President of the EMDR Association, Dr Derek Farrell. We will also have valuable insight on the latest forensic science techniques from the Forensic Science Regulator and many more interesting speakers on a range of subjects from working with people with learning difficulties to use of the latest technologies to encourage greater use of services.

St. Mary's Centre was the first sexual assault referral centre in the UK and our conferences have become key annual events for the discussion of new ideas, and a forum for networking within the growing sexual assault aftercare community.

This will include:
• Improving sexual services for people with Learning Difficulties
• Use of technology in increasing reports of rape and sexual assault
• How media reporting of Child Sexual Abuse cases has evolved
• Encouraging inclusivity and working with diverse communities
• Supporting vulnerable witnesses through the court process
• Child sexual exploitation – what have we learned?
• Prevalance and impact of strangulation in sexual violence
• Plus regulars such as a Forensic Science Update, Information Sharing panel and range of practical workshops for practitioners
